New Year's Resolution

I normally make a very easy New Year's resolution like eat at more privately owned restaurants, but this year I am planning on a life changing resolution. For some reason I have a habit of self sabotaging relationships. I am making a conscious effort to not to let that happen again. I want eventually a long lasting relationship with someone and it will not happen the rate I'm going. How do I plan to accomplish this task? Good question. I'm hoping that by taking time first to think about the situation before I react. Take the time to think about my actions and why I'm reacting the way I react. I'm not saying this is a full proof plan, but it's a huge step for me. I hope it works for the best, only time will tell.

Learning to be Content

Being content with what you have is probably the hardest thing in life. The expression the grass is greener on the other side is truer as life goes on. We are so busy trying to obtain the "other side" that we forget to enjoy life as it is now. I have a great man in my life and unfortunately I am so focused on what our relationship could be instead of what we have now. If I'm completely honest with myself then we have a great relationship and have great memories now, but I focus on the future and then I get disappointed if things aren't moving at the pace that I want. The question is why am I in such a hurry? I tend to be an impatient person so I really feel like God is testing my patience and I'm failing miserably. In a world that gets answers in a millisecond of course I want my personal life to have answers just as quick.

Learning to be content with what I have is what I've struggled with my entire life.
